Trump Plans to Hold Military Parade on His Birthday – Deutsche Welle

U.S. President Donald Trump intends to hold a large military parade in the nation’s capital, Washington, to mark the 250th anniversary of the United States Army, which will be celebrated on June 14. According to Deutsche Welle, this date also marks the President’s 79th birthday.
According to the Washington City Paper, which was the first to report on the parade plans, the parade route will stretch for 4 miles (almost 6.5 kilometers) — from the Pentagon headquarters in Arlington, a suburb of Washington, to the White House.
Representatives of local authorities and the armed forces confirmed the existence of such plans to The Hill and NewsNation, but clarified that nothing has been officially approved yet and no formal requests or orders have been issued.
During his first presidential term, Trump had already wanted to hold a military parade in 2018, but it was canceled due to the projected high cost — around $92 million (approximately €84 million). Additionally, city officials feared that tanks and heavy armored vehicles would cause serious damage to the city’s streets.
