Today is Good Friday: the Orthodox Church commemorates the crucifixion, the removal from the cross, and the burial of Jesus Christ

Good Friday is the most sorrowful day of Holy Week. On this day, the church service is dedicated to remembering the crucifixion of Jesus Christ, His removal from the cross, and His burial.
On Good Friday, the Divine Liturgy is not celebrated in churches, because, according to the Gospel, the Lord offered Himself as a sacrifice for the salvation of humanity from sin. During the service, the Royal Hours are read, which recount the suffering of the Savior.
Also on Good Friday, eggs are dyed red and Easter bread (kulich) is baked, since, according to the Gospel, the crucifixion of Jesus Christ took place during the Jewish Passover.
