Trump Announces Ceasefire Agreement Between Iran and Israel Has Taken Effect

U.S. President Donald Trump announced that a ceasefire agreement between Israel and Iran has come into force.
"The ceasefire has taken effect. Please do not violate it!" Trump wrote on the social media platform Truth Social.
In a post published several hours earlier, Trump indicated that Iran would be the first to begin observing the ceasefire, and that Israel would join the agreement 12 hours later.
Trump also emphasized that the agreement could not have been reached "without the talent and courage of our great B-2 pilots" and others involved in the U.S. strike on facilities linked to Iran's nuclear program.
According to The Times of Israel, Iranian television announced the start of the ceasefire. As of the time of publication, Israeli officials had not commented on Trump's statement about the truce. However, sources told Israeli media that the ceasefire would hold if all sides maintained their commitments.
