Georgian Police Intercept Drug Sale — One Person Detained

Officers of the Main Division for Combating Illegal Drug Trafficking of the Central Criminal Police Department of Georgia’s Ministry of Internal Affairs have detained a 34-year-old individual, Sh.N., born in 1990, on charges of illegal acquisition, possession, and preparation for the sale of marijuana. This was reported by the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
According to the ministry, during the search of the suspect’s personal belongings and vehicle, police seized 23 packages of marijuana as material evidence.
The investigation revealed that the suspect was placing the drugs in various locations for subsequent sale, taking photos of the packages, and then sending the images along with specific labels and coordinates to interested buyers.
According to the report, an additional 6 packages of drugs were retrieved from the locations indicated by the suspect. The police also seized an electronic scale as evidence.
The investigation is being conducted under Part 3 of Article 18-260 and Article 273¹ of the Criminal Code of Georgia. The crime is punishable by up to 20 years or life imprisonment.
