Trump and Zelensky Meet at the Vatican

U.S. President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky held a brief bilateral meeting at the Vatican on the morning of April 26. This was reported by the press secretary of the Ukrainian head of state, Serhiy Nykyforov.
Both leaders arrived at the Vatican to attend the funeral ceremony of Pope Francis.
According to White House Communications Director Steven Cheng, Trump and Zelensky had a closed and very productive conversation. He promised to reveal more details later.
As reported by Sky News, the U.S. and Ukrainian presidents agreed to hold additional talks after the ceremony.
On April 25, U.S. presidential envoy Steve Witkoff held another, the fourth, meeting with Vladimir Putin in Moscow. According to Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov, the meeting lasted three hours and "helped further bring Russia and the U.S. closer not only on Ukraine but also on a number of other international issues." He added that the parties discussed the possibility of resuming direct negotiations between Russia and Ukraine.
Trump himself stated that last Friday was "a good day for negotiations and meetings with Russia and Ukraine." "They are very close to reaching an agreement, and now both sides must meet — at the highest level — to finalize it. Most of the key points have already been agreed upon," the American president wrote on his social network, Truth Social.
