Russian President Vladimir Putin arrived in Tajikistan on the evening of October 8 for a state visit, Sputnik Tajikistan reported.
Putin’s trip to Tajikistan will last three days — from October 8 to 10. According to the president’s aide Yuri Ushakov, the visit consists of three parts: a state visit, the Russia–Central Asia summit, and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) summit.
Ushakov said that the Russian delegation includes more than 20 members of the Russian government: Deputy Prime Ministers Alexei Overchuk and Marat Khusnullin (who heads the bilateral intergovernmental commission from the Russian side), Minister of Defense Andrei Belousov, Head of the National Guard Viktor Zolotov, Minister of Internal Affairs Vladimir Kolokoltsev, Minister of Economic Development Maxim Reshetnikov, Minister of Finance Anton Siluanov, Minister of Justice Konstantin Chuychenko, Minister of Industry and Trade Anton Alikhanov, Minister of Labor Anton Kotyakov, Minister of Education Sergei Kravtsov, Minister of Health Mikhail Murashko, Minister of Transport Andrei Nikitin, and others.
During the talks, the delegations will discuss a wide range of issues — from politics and security to economics and international affairs. “By the way, migration issues will also be discussed — as you may have noticed, I mentioned that the Minister of Internal Affairs Kolokoltsev is part of the delegation,” Ushakov told journalists.
