Politico: Vladimir Putin proposed to Donald Trump that Russia would not provide intelligence to Iran if the United States did the same regarding Ukraine
Representatives of the Russian authorities proposed a deal to United States under which Russia would stop supplying intelligence information to Iran — meaning it would not provide coordinates of American military facilities in the Middle East — if the United States stopped providing intelligence on Russia to Ukraine. This was reported by Politico, citing its own sources.
According to the report, Russian President Vladimir Putin’s special envoy Kirill Dmitriev conveyed a similar proposal to U.S. President Donald Trump’s special envoy Steven Witkoff and Trump adviser Jared Kushner during their recent meeting in Miami.
Politico reports that the United States rejected the proposal from Russia.
The outlet also writes that the proposal angered European allies, who believe that Moscow is trying to damage relations between Europe and the United States.
The White House declined to comment on the information. Kirill Dmitriev, in turn, called it fake.
