Nikol Pashinyan — Relations between Armenia and Georgia do not depend on third parties; they are strategic, brotherly, and will remain so in the future
“Relations between Armenia and Georgia do not depend on third parties and will retain their strategic and brotherly nature in the future,” Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said.
According to Armenian media, the Prime Minister made this statement during a briefing while commenting on remarks by Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze that “the European Union will not be able to influence Armenia–Georgia relations.”
In response to a journalist’s question, Pashinyan noted that Georgia plays an important and key role in Armenia–European Union relations.
“Georgia plays a very important and key role in Armenia–European relations, and we are very concerned about the current situation. We believe this situation should be regulated,” Pashinyan said.
At the same time, he stated that relations between Armenia and Georgia are not connected to relations with other countries or international organizations; Armenia–Georgia relations are strategic, long-term, historical, and brotherly, and will remain so in the future.
“There can simply be no other scenario,” the Armenian Prime Minister noted.
