Lukashenko Pardons 31 Ukrainian Citizens
Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko has pardoned 31 citizens of Ukraine. This was announced by the president’s press secretary Natalia Eismont.
According to her, the decision was made as part of the agreements between U.S. President Donald Trump and Lukashenko, as well as “at the request of the Ukrainian side — in order to create conditions for a settlement” in Russia’s war against Ukraine.
“Right now, at this very moment, they are being handed over to the Ukrainian side,” Eismont was quoted as saying by the BelTA news agency.
She added that Lukashenko “consistently advocates for stabilizing the situation in the region,” “establishing dialogue between all states,” and “resolving all contentious issues exclusively by peaceful means.” “Negotiations with various countries, especially with the United States of America, are currently in an active phase,” she said.
Earlier, on November 20, it became known about the pardoning and release from a penal colony of two Catholic priests: Father Henryk Okolotowicz and Father Andrzej Yukhnevich.
