Israel Eliminates Head of Palestinian IRGC Unit

As a result of an Israeli Air Force strike on an apartment in the Iranian city of Qom, the head of the Palestinian unit of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), Said Izadi, was killed. The announcement was made on Saturday, June 21, by Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant. According to him, Izadi “funded and armed Hamas” ahead of the large-scale attack on Israel on October 7, 2023. Gallant called Izadi’s elimination “a major achievement for Israeli intelligence and the Air Force.”
Meanwhile, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) reported that a June 20 airstrike killed Aminpour Judaki, commander of the IRGC Air Force’s second UAV brigade. Judaki had taken over drone strike operations after the previous UAV commander, Taher Pour, was killed on June 13.
On the night of June 21, Israel and Iran exchanged strikes once again. According to the Iranian news agency Fars, the Israeli Air Force targeted a nuclear facility in Isfahan. Local authorities claimed the strike was repelled and stated that “there was no leakage of hazardous materials.”
Shortly before that, the IDF reported that Iran had launched missiles toward Israel. Reuters reported explosions in the Tel Aviv area. A fire broke out in a high-rise residential building due to debris from an intercepted missile.
