German Prosecutor’s Office: Hamas Was Planning Terrorist Attacks in Berlin and Vienna
The German Prosecutor’s Office has charged seven members of the radical group Hamas. According to the investigation, they were planning terrorist attacks in Berlin and Vienna. Deutsche Welle reports this.
According to investigators, attacks against Israeli representatives in Germany and Austria were planned for October 7, 2025. The terrorists’ plans were thwarted just a few days before the attacks were due to take place. On October 1, 2025, three suspects were arrested in Berlin. At the time, the group possessed one automatic firearm, 12 pistols, and 700 rounds of ammunition.
In November 2025, investigators discovered a weapons cache in Vienna. At the same time, another suspect was arrested in London. In the following months, several people were arrested in Denmark, Cyprus, and Berlin.
Details of the planned terrorist attack became known only in June. A pre-recorded video was found on an electronic device belonging to one of the terrorists, in which he claimed responsibility for the attack.
The attack was to be carried out two years after Hamas’s terrorist attack on Israel on October 7, 2023. The attack carried out by Hamas against Israel in October 2023 killed 1,200 people.
