The Department of Roads provides information on the current road conditions in Georgia
As a result of the cleaning operations, light vehicle traffic has been restored on the Gudauri–Kobi section of the Mtskheta–Stepantsminda–Lars highway, the Georgian Department of Roads of Georgia reports.
According to the department, regarding other routes, due to heavy snowfall and difficult meteorological conditions, special traffic regimes have been introduced on certain road sections.
“Due to ice, heavy snowfall, and difficult weather conditions, the movement of vehicles with trailers and semi-trailers is restricted on the following sections: Gudauri–Kobi of the Mtskheta–Stepantsminda–Lars highway; transport interchange Akhalsopeli–Boriti on the Tbilisi–Senaki–Leselidze road; km 1–km 106 of the Gomi–Sachkhere–Chiatura–Zestafoni highway; sections Koda–village Algeti and km 110–km 146 of the Koda–Parcisi–Manglisi–Tsalka–Ninotsminda highway; Nakerala Pass; Sachkhere–Racha road; Parcisi–Tetritskaro highway; Marneuli–Tetritskaro–Tsalka road; section Ofitara–Mele of the Kutaisi–Tskaltubo–Tsageri–Lentekhi–Lasdili highway; section Khorenishi–Shovi of the Kutaisi–Alpana–Mamisoni road; as well as the section Jvari–Ushguli of the Zugdidi–Jvari–Mestia–Lasdili highway.
Due to avalanche danger, heavy snowfall, poor visibility, and blizzards, all types of vehicles are temporarily restricted on Paravani Pass; on the section Paxzadeebi Bridge–Utkhisubani of the Batumi (Angisa)–Akhaltsikhe road; on the Nichbisi–Didgori–Didi Toneti road; on the Korsa–Shatili section; and on the Ushguli–Lasdili section. Only high-clearance vehicles are allowed to travel on km 50–km 85 of the Batumi–Akhaltsikhe road. Traffic on all other road sections is open,” — the information from the Georgian Department of Roads states.
