Starting November 1, the airline RusLine will launch direct flights between Moscow and Sukhumi

The airline RusLine will begin operating direct flights between Moscow and Sukhumi on November 1, 2025, according to Apsadgil.info.

Flights will be operated twice a week. A 50-seat Bombardier CRJ100/200 aircraft will connect Moscow and Sukhumi. The flight duration will be 3 hours and 40 minutes.

A few days ago, reports emerged that the Sukhumi airport in the occupied region of Abkhazia, which resumed operations in May 2025 after a 30-year hiatus, would temporarily suspend its activities starting October 25.

The suspension of operations was linked to the end of the tourist season and a decline in passenger traffic. Flights to Sukhumi had become unprofitable.

At the same time, it was reported that the de facto government of Sukhumi was seeking to reach an agreement with Moscow to maintain at least one or two flights per week through subsidies from the Russian budget.
