Georgian coach Ramaz Svanadze will lead the Georgia national football team until the end of 2028. Svanadze will replace Frenchman Willy Sagnol as head coach. The national team announced this.

“Sagnol had been in charge of the Georgia national team since February 2021. During this period, the national team played 57 matches. Under Sagnol, Georgia achieved historic success. In 2024, the team played at the European Championship finals for the first time, where it advanced from the group stage and reached the tournament’s Round of 16.

Ramaz Svanadze had been coaching the Georgia U21 national team and, together with the youth side, participated in the European Championship finals twice.

In the final three matches of the Georgia U21 national team’s qualifying campaign, Svanadze will be replaced by his assistant, Giorgi Adamia.
