“Precipitation, fog, blizzards, avalanche danger” — National Environment Agency warns the population of Georgia

The National Environment Agency is warning the population about a deterioration of weather conditions in Georgia in the coming days.
According to the agency, on January 17 in western Georgia, and from January 18 until the morning of January 20 in eastern Georgia, precipitation is expected, locally heavy, mainly in the form of snow, along with fog, blizzards, icing on power transmission lines, icy roads, and avalanche danger in mountainous areas.
Due to heavy snowfall, reduced visibility, blizzards, icy conditions, and avalanche risk, traffic restrictions may be imposed on certain sections of highways.
The expected heavy precipitation may trigger the formation and activation of landslide processes in hilly and mountainous zones (hazard level: medium).
