Kutaisi International Airport, named after David the Builder, has turned 14.

To mark the airport’s anniversary, various activities for passengers will be held at Kutaisi International Airport on September 29, organized by United Airports of Georgia.

This year, alongside the airport’s anniversary, the 10th anniversary of the establishment of Wizz Air’s Kutaisi base will also be celebrated.

On September 29, an event dedicated to the airport’s birthday will be held, featuring various entertainment activities and surprises for passengers.

Currently, six airlines operate from Kutaisi International Airport to 32 destinations in 16 countries, 25 of which are European destinations.

Kutaisi International Airport operates the largest number of direct flights from Georgia to Europe.

Fourteen years ago, the airport located in Kopitnari underwent a full reconstruction, after which Kutaisi International Airport resumed operations with upgraded infrastructure.

During this period, the airport terminal was expanded several times, the airfield infrastructure was upgraded, passenger services were developed, and the airport became one of the country’s major international aviation hubs.

Kutaisi International Airport continues to develop its infrastructure. Construction of a new 3.5-kilometer runway and related airfield infrastructure is currently nearing completion.

Once the project is completed, the airport will be able to accommodate large passenger and cargo aircraft, creating opportunities to expand long-haul air connections.

As part of the week dedicated to the airport’s birthday, special offers and activities from partners will take place from September 28 through October 4, inclusive.
