Beka Djaiani, accused of murdering Kesaria Abramidze, sentenced to life imprisonment

Beka Djaiani, accused of murdering Kesaria Abramidze, has been sentenced to life in prison.

The decision was made by Nino Galustashvili, a judge of the Tbilisi City Court.

The investigation was conducted under paragraphs "t" and "m" of Article 109 of the Criminal Code, which refer to premeditated murder committed with particular cruelty and under aggravating circumstances on the grounds of gender. This crime is punishable by 16 to 20 years of imprisonment or life imprisonment.

As a reminder, 37-year-old transgender woman Kesaria Abramidze was murdered on September 18 of last year in her home in Didi Digomi.
