On the first day of the World Figure Skating Championships taking place in Prague, the competition among pairs was held.

Olympic silver medalists Anastasia Metelkina and Luka Berulava performed their short program at a high level and scored 79.45 points — their best result of the season.

After the Georgian pair, the German duo Volodin–Hasse took the ice. They received 79.78 points from the judges, slightly surpassing our athletes and finishing the short program in first place.

The world champions in pairs skating will be determined tomorrow.

Metelkina and Berulava, who are in second position, will present their free program on March 26. The competition will start at 21:15.
