“A particularly large quantity of drugs seized” — Ukrainian citizen detained in Georgia

Officers of the Terjola District Division of the Imereti Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, on charges of illegal acquisition and storage of narcotic drugs in a particularly large amount, as well as facilitating their sale, have detained a Ukrainian citizen, I. Kh., born in 1998. This was reported by Georgia’s Ministry of Internal Affairs.

According to the MIA, during a search of the suspect’s temporary place of residence, law enforcement officers seized, as material evidence, a particularly large quantity of the narcotic drug methadone prepared for distribution.

“During the investigative actions carried out, police also seized materials necessary for packaging narcotic substances.

The investigation is being conducted under Articles 260 and 260¹ of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which provide for punishment in the form of imprisonment for up to 20 years or life imprisonment,” the statement said.
