Prime Minister of Georgia: The OSCE report on Georgia prepared under the “Moscow Mechanism” is full of lies
The report on Georgia prepared within the framework of the Moscow Mechanism of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe is filled with falsehoods, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze told journalists.
According to the head of government, there was a conflict of interest: in fact, the process had been initiated, among others, by Poland, and it turned out that the expert himself was a representative of the Polish government.
“This was a direct conflict of interest. The fact that this particular individual concealed the conflict of interest only deepens the doubts. We all know that the conclusion that was later published had been written in advance. Ultimately, we all see that this conclusion is filled with lies from beginning to end, and we will provide the public with even more detailed information about this.
First of all, we are exposing all the falsehoods reflected in this report. I would also like to note that the report contains specific information and recommendations that correspond to reality and must be taken into account. Such entries are also present in the report. We will provide the public with more detailed information.
We will probably even dedicate a special briefing to this issue, since it is important for the public to have information about it. There are issues that require our attention; however, overall this report is filled with falsehoods.
The basis and underlying motives of these processes are entirely political. You know which countries were at the forefront of initiating this process and how it continued afterwards. From beginning to end, the process that was launched was dictated by narrow political interests. Within the scope of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe, they could not find a country more undemocratic than Georgia,” Kobakhidze said.
According to him, Georgia is among the leading countries within the OSCE in terms of democratic development.
“Double standards are very obvious and shameful. All of this once again shows the very serious processes that are unfolding within the European bureaucracy,” the Prime Minister of Georgia noted.
