Prime Minister of Georgia Meets with President of Armenia
Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze met with the President of Armenia, Vahagn Khachaturyan, who is on an official visit to Georgia.
During the bilateral meeting, attention was focused on the longstanding good-neighborly relations between Georgia and Armenia, as well as the positive dynamics in the development of their strategic partnership. The special importance of peace and stability in the region was emphasized. Irakli Kobakhidze thanked Vahagn Khachaturyan for his visit to Georgia and for his support.
“We are pleased that relations between our countries are developing dynamically. Frequent exchanges of high-level visits are, of course, a confirmation of this. Thank you for coming to Georgia — your personal support is very important to us. Our relations are rapidly developing both politically and economically in various fields. We have very close cooperation with the Government of Armenia. We are confident that with this dynamic and pace, we will achieve great success in further developing our relations,” said Irakli Kobakhidze.
The President of the Republic of Armenia thanked the Georgian side for the warm welcome. Vahagn Khachaturyan emphasized the importance of further deepening bilateral relations.
“Many thanks to the Government of Georgia for the warm reception. I arrived yesterday, and I have the impression that I have been here forever. This feeling is created by the attention shown to us and the atmosphere that has been arranged here for us.
I am sure this is also due to the personal relations with your country’s Prime Minister and the reliable partnership you provide. I am confident that high-level meetings strengthen our relations and create new opportunities.
We are doing everything to support the strengthening and deepening of bilateral ties. Rest assured that there will be no changes in the attitudes or approaches of the Armenian side. Our shared desire is to ensure peace and stability in the region, as well as internal political sustainability. I believe that the people of both Georgia and Armenia will appreciate the efforts of our governments aimed at safeguarding the sovereignty and independence of our countries,” said Vahagn Khachaturyan.
After the bilateral meeting, the Prime Minister of Georgia, together with members of the government, hosted an official dinner for the President of Armenia and his delegation.
