Kakha Kaladze: There is a platform and opportunity for new political parties to emerge within the opposition spectrum

Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze believes that there are significant opportunities today in the country for the emergence of new political parties, since, according to him, the opposition in Georgia essentially does not exist.
"As for the opposition spectrum, of course, overall, there are very significant opportunities — there is a large platform and potential for new political parties to emerge, because today the opposition essentially does not exist. There is a radical group that has been marginalized and represents nothing but a problem — both for itself and for the country's development," said Kakha Kaladze.
When asked by a journalist about the likelihood of former Prime Minister and chairman of the Georgian Dream party, Irakli Garibashvili, joining a new opposition force, Kakha Kaladze responded that he does not know what such claims by certain individuals are based on.
"I don’t know what such a statement is related to; it’s hard for me to answer that. Irakli Garibashvili is working as usual. We are ordinary soldiers — as citizens of this country, we serve our homeland and do the work that, first and foremost, will benefit our country and its future," the Tbilisi mayor noted.
