“The peaceful resolution of the conflict with the Russian Federation, the preservation and development of existing trade and economic relations, and maintaining an ongoing dialogue on humanitarian issues are among our country’s most important priorities.
Given the absence of diplomatic relations between Georgia and the Russian Federation, the position of the Prime Minister’s Special Representative, alongside the Geneva International Discussions, is of key importance in achieving these objectives.
Mr. Giorgi Zurabashvili is a highly experienced diplomat. Over the years, he has held various senior positions in public service. At the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, he served as director of several departments and also held the position of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary. In 2024, he was appointed Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, and on July 1, 2025, he became First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs.
We are confident that Mr. Giorgi Zurabashvili, with his knowledge and experience, will perform the duties entrusted to the Prime Minister’s Special Representative to the highest standard,” Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze stated.
