Georgian Prime Minister to Attend 70th Anniversary Events of Hungarian Revolution in Budapest at Invitation of Péter Magyar
Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze will attend events in Budapest marking the 70th anniversary of the Hungarian Revolution at the invitation of Hungarian Prime Minister Péter Magyar.
The main commemorative event, at which the Hungarian prime minister will deliver a speech, will take place on October 23 in the central square of the Hungarian capital.
“The freedom that Central Europe finally regained in 1989 did not begin in 1989. Part of its history was written 33 years earlier, in the streets of Budapest. It is my great honor to invite you to Budapest so that we can jointly celebrate the 70th anniversary of the 1956 Hungarian Revolution.
It would be a great honor for us to have you attend the event, where we will pay tribute to the people whose courage continues to inspire us as we build our common European future, and whose legacy continues to speak to the challenges of our time,” reads the official invitation letter from Péter Magyar, received by the Prime Minister of Georgia.
