Georgia Allocates 25.0 Million Lari in 2026 for Geological Studies for the Construction of a Subsea Power Transmission Line in the Black Sea
For geological studies necessary for the construction of a subsea power transmission line in the Black Sea, 25.0 million lari is allocated in 2026, according to the Ministry of Finance of Georgia.
In the final version of the 2026 budget project, 928.6 million lari is allocated to the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development.
Within the allocated funds, the following is planned:
Development of entrepreneurship — 232.7 million lari;
Promotion of tourism development — 65.1 million lari;
Development of innovation and technology in Georgia — 156.4 million lari;
Coverage of obligations under international agreements in the transport sector and subsidizing transportation costs — 27 million lari;
Construction and rehabilitation of power transmission lines — 222.0 million lari, including 25.0 million lari for geological studies necessary for the construction of a subsea power transmission line in the Black Sea;
Energy storage device project (ADB) — 35.0 million lari;
Construction of water infrastructure necessary for the deep-sea port of Anaklia — 50.0 million lari.
