A meeting of the Georgia–Armenia Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation was held under the chairmanship of the two countries’ prime ministers

Under the chairmanship of the Prime Ministers of Georgia and Armenia, a session of the Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation between the two countries took place.

At the 15th session of the Commission, Irakli Kobakhidze and Nikol Pashinyan discussed the positive dynamics of deepening partnership across various sectors and the prospects for further cooperation.

The Prime Minister of Georgia emphasized strategic partnership with Armenia, growing cooperation, and the importance of regional stability:

“Our countries have established diverse formats of cooperation, which positively affect the development of our partnership. Armenia consistently ranks among Georgia’s top ten trading partners. In terms of the number of visitors from Armenia to Georgia, Armenia is among the top three. Beyond trade and economic relations, we share close cooperation in areas such as education, culture, people-to-people ties, and strategic initiatives. Against this backdrop, there is significant potential to further deepen cooperation across all directions. It is also extremely important to maintain stability in the region. We are pleased with the trends that have developed recently in our region.

The peace agreement concluded between your country and Azerbaijan was very important. All of this provides a solid foundation for even more active work to strengthen and develop our region. Mr. Prime Minister, I want to thank you for your personal contribution to the development of our relations. We greatly appreciate it,” said Irakli Kobakhidze.

The Prime Minister of Georgia also thanked Armenia and Azerbaijan for their ongoing support of the peace process and highlighted the positive dynamics in the development of trade and economic relations between the two countries.

“Since gaining independence, trains have been running from Georgia to Armenia, and we hope that rail connections will further increase trade. Your support in this matter is invaluable. With Georgia’s support, trilateral cooperation between Armenia, Georgia, and Azerbaijan has deepened. Peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan, of course, improves the environment in our region. We will continue to unconditionally support Georgia’s territorial integrity, sovereignty, and political independence. The historical relations between our peoples are very good and positive. This is an essential and important value,” said Nikol Pashinyan.

Members of the governments of both countries participated in the session of the Georgia–Armenia Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation.
