In the Telavi municipality, a woman around 60 years old has died as a result of mushroom poisoning. The news was reported by the local outlet Main News of Kakheti.

According to media reports, the patient was taken to the Telavi referral hospital with severe intoxication, but doctors were unable to save her life.

The condition of the deceased woman’s husband remains serious but stable. He is undergoing treatment in the intensive care unit.

Over the past ten days, about 20 people have been admitted to the Telavi referral hospital with suspected mushroom poisoning. Doctors are urging the public to exercise caution and emphasize that consuming mushrooms of unknown species is particularly dangerous.
