Two detained in eastern Georgia on charges of unlawful deprivation of liberty for the purpose of marriage
Officers of the Marneuli District Division of the Kvemo Kartli Police Department of Georgia’s Ministry of Internal Affairs have detained N.A. (born in 2004) and S.B. (born in 2000) on charges of unlawful deprivation of liberty. This was reported by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia.
“Investigators established that in one of the villages of Marneuli Municipality, N.A. unlawfully deprived U.K. (born in 2006) of her freedom for the purpose of marriage. S.B., who is currently detained as an accused, also took part in the criminal act.
As a result of investigative measures, law enforcement officers arrested both suspects shortly after the crime, in hot pursuit.
The investigation is being conducted under Article 143 of the Criminal Code, which предусматривает наказание in the form of imprisonment for up to four years,” the statement said.
