Three People Detained in Georgia for Allegedly Illegally Cultivating a Plant Containing a Narcotic Substance in Especially Large Quantities
Employees of the Investigative Division of the Kakheti Police Department and the Lagodekhi District Division of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia detained three individuals as a result of joint operational activities and investigative actions. They are accused of illegally cultivating a plant containing a narcotic substance in especially large quantities, according to a statement from the Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs.
According to the ministry, those detained are: M.I., born in 1995, as well as previously convicted individuals M.Z., born in 1989, and F.N., born in 1978.
The crime is punishable by up to 12 years of imprisonment.
According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, law enforcement officers seized an especially large amount of the narcotic plant "cannabis" from the detainees’ residences and specially equipped greenhouses.
The investigation is being conducted under the third part of Article 265 of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
