The Prosecutor’s Office of Georgia Has Charged an Individual with Acquiring, Storing, and Distributing Pornographic Photo and Video Materials Depicting a Minor
The Prosecutor’s Office of Georgia reported that one individual has been charged with acquiring, storing, and distributing pornographic photo and video materials depicting a minor.
“During an investigation conducted by the Ministry of Internal Affairs, it was established that the accused registered on various channels of the social network Telegram and received pornographic photo and video materials depicting a minor from different individuals, stored them in the Telegram application on their mobile phone, and sent them to members of Telegram groups for the purpose of further distribution.
The accused has been charged under parts three and four of Article 255 of the Criminal Code of Georgia (acquisition, storage, and distribution of pornographic material depicting a minor with prior intent), which carries a penalty of up to 15 years of imprisonment.
The Prosecutor’s Office will petition the court to apply pre-trial detention to the accused within the timeframes established by law,” the statement reads.
