The National Food Agency has uncovered cases of illegal sales of agrochemicals in Western Georgia

Inspectors of the Imereti Department, within the framework of state control, inspected an agrochemical sales facility operated by individual entrepreneur Z. M. (address: Tskaltubo, village of Maghlaki). The National Food Agency reported this.

According to the agency, the state inspection established that the business operator had been operating without registration and without the authorization granted by the agency.

“The National Food Agency also identified similar violations in Khoni: individual entrepreneur I. S. (address: Khoni, Chavchavadze Lane 1, adjacent to the agricultural market area) and private individual D. G. (address: Khoni, Chavchavadze Street No. 1) were also selling agrochemicals without registration and without authorization granted by the agency.

In accordance with the law, the business operators were fined and prohibited from trading agrochemicals without complying with the relevant requirements and completing mandatory procedures.

Since 2019, legislative requirements for facilities engaged in the sale of pesticides and agrochemicals have been tightened.

For a specialized facility to operate, official recognition in accordance with the procedures established by the National Food Agency is mandatory, which подразумевает full compliance with sanitary-hygienic requirements and safety regulations,” the statement says.
