The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia has detained 7 Thai nationals on charges of facilitating prostitution and providing premises for engaging in prostitution

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia , officers from the Central Criminal Police Department, during investigative activities — including covert operations based on a court order — established that the suspects were systematically facilitating prostitution. Specifically, they were renting out premises for a fee in Tbilisi, on Nikolozade, Vashlovani, Kostava, and Akhvlediani streets.

The investigation also found that the administrators of these establishments were helping women engaged in prostitution to find clients. In return, they would pay a portion of the income earned from providing sexual services to the accused.

It was revealed that the primary source of income for these establishments was the facilitation of prostitution. As a result of comprehensive operational and investigative actions, the police detained 7 administrators and shut down 10 establishments.

According to the Ministry, the investigation is ongoing under Article 254, Parts 1 and 2, of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which pertains to facilitating prostitution and providing premises for engaging in prostitution.
