Officers of the Baghdati and Terjola district divisions of the Imereti Police Department, under the Ministry of Internal Affairs, detained a 39-year-old man, P.K., who had previously been repeatedly convicted of drug-related crimes, as a result of operational and investigative measures, the Ministry reported.

“During a personal search of the detainee, law enforcement officers seized, as material evidence, a particularly large amount of the drug ‘Alpha-PVP,’ packaged in 27 parcels and prepared for sale. In addition, based on the suspect’s indications, four more packages of the drug were seized from various locations.

In total, the police seized 31 packages of the narcotic substance.

The investigation is underway under subparagraph ‘a’ of part 3 of article 260 and subparagraph ‘a’ of part 6 of article 260¹ of the Criminal Code of Georgia,” the Ministry stated.

According to the information, the crime is punishable by up to 20 years or life imprisonment.
