Sarpi Checkpoint Customs Officers, in Cooperation with Georgia’s Interior Ministry, Seize a Particularly Large Quantity of Cocaine
Customs officers at the Sarpi checkpoint, working in cooperation with representatives of Georgia’s Ministry of Internal Affairs, uncovered a particularly large quantity of the narcotic drug cocaine. The Revenue Service of Georgia’s Ministry of Finance reports this.
“Customs officers at the Sarpi Customs Checkpoint of the Revenue Service of Georgia’s Ministry of Finance, in coordination with employees of the Central Criminal Police Department of Georgia’s Ministry of Internal Affairs, prevented an attempt to illegally import a particularly large quantity of cocaine into Georgia as part of jointly conducted customs procedures and investigative measures.
A foreign national attempted to bring approximately 100 grams of cocaine into the country while bypassing customs control, using a specially constructed hiding place — a space beneath the sole of a shoe.
The case materials have been transferred to Georgia’s Ministry of Internal Affairs for further action,” the statement said.
