In Russian-occupied Abkhazia, three inmates escaped during their transfer from the temporary detention facility in the Gagra district to the pre-trial detention center in the village of Dranda.

The escapees were:

Dmitry Guramovich Bartsits, accused of attempted theft of another person's property;

Alexander Migirovich Akopyan, also accused of attempted theft of another person's property;

Sergei Olegovich Kim, a suspect in a case involving the illegal acquisition, possession with intent to distribute, and distribution of narcotic drugs in especially large quantities.

“As a result of the measures taken, two of the escapees — Bartsits and Akopyan — were apprehended the same day.
