Officers of the Old Tbilisi Main Division of the Tbilisi Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia detained a citizen of the Republic of Turkey, identified by the initials V.Ts., born in 1997, on charges of illegal acquisition and possession of narcotic drugs, as well as facilitating their illegal distribution.

The investigation established that the accused had placed the narcotic substance “methadone” in 25 hiding spots in Tbilisi for later sale. The police seized 77 packaged bundles of the narcotic substance from the locations he indicated as material evidence.

The investigation is being conducted under Articles 260 and 260¹ of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which provide for up to 20 years in prison or life imprisonment.
