Police in Western Georgia Detain Two People on Drug Charges — Various Types of Narcotics Seized
Officers of the Samegrelo–Zemo Svaneti Police Department of Georgia’s Ministry of Internal Affairs have detained two individuals previously convicted multiple times for similar crimes — V.K. (born 1973) and B.K. (born 1984). They are accused of illegally acquiring and storing narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances in large and especially large quantities, the Ministry of Internal Affairs reports.
According to the agency, during searches of the suspects’ personal belongings and homes, law enforcement officers seized especially large amounts of various narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances, including methadone and pregabalin.
“As part of the investigative measures, materials intended for packaging narcotics were also seized.
The investigation is being conducted under Articles 260, 261, and 273 of Georgia’s Criminal Code, which provide for punishment of up to 20 years in prison or life imprisonment,” the statement said.
