Officers from the police department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia, in particular the Old Tbilisi Main Division, detained two individuals — G.J., born in 2004, and previously convicted Sh.Ch., born in 1995 — on charges of robbery committed by a group with prior agreement. “The investigation established that the suspects physically assaulted a foreign citizen, I.Z., and, using force, stole his personal belongings, including a mobile phone.

As a result of оперативные measures and investigative actions, police detained G.J. and Sh.Ch. shortly after the crime as suspects.

The investigation is being conducted under Article 178 of the Criminal Code, which provides for a penalty of up to 8 years of imprisonment,” the agency stated.
