Migration Department officers deport 126 foreign nationals from Georgia
Officers of the Migration Department of Georgia's Ministry of Internal Affairs, in close coordination with the ministry's relevant units, deported 126 foreign nationals from Georgia as a result of operations carried out over the past few days. The information was released by the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
"As a result of comprehensive measures conducted by the Migration Department, a total of 126 citizens of Turkey, India, Turkmenistan, Pakistan, Russia, Uzbekistan, Vietnam, Nigeria, Jordan, Burundi, Sudan, China, Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Egypt, Lebanon, Moldova, the Philippines, and other countries were deported from the country. During the first six months of this year, Migration Department officers deported 2,036 foreign nationals who were residing in Georgia illegally, significantly exceeding the total figure for the entire previous year.
It should be noted that, as of July 1, 2026, certain provisions of the legislative amendments to the Law of Georgia 'On the Legal Status of Foreign Citizens and Stateless Persons' have entered into force. The new regulations address modern migration challenges and are aimed at creating effective mechanisms for managing migration processes, as well as strengthening state security," the statement says.
