Large quantities of narcotic and psychotropic substances seized in Adjara — 3 people detained

Officers of the Adjara Main Directorate of the Patrol Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia, along with the Adjara investigative unit of the Department’s Main Investigative Directorate, have detained three individuals at different times on charges of illegal acquisition and possession of narcotic and psychotropic substances in especially large quantities, as well as facilitating their illegal distribution. Those detained are a citizen of Kazakhstan, B.A., born in 2005; a citizen of Armenia, H.A., born in 1980; and a citizen of Germany, O.K., born in 1978. The Ministry of Internal Affairs reported this.

According to the ministry, patrol inspectors stopped the suspects in Batumi and Kobuleti for inspection.

“As a result of searches of their personal belongings, vehicles, as well as the detainees’ temporary places of residence, especially large quantities of narcotic and psychotropic substances were seized as material evidence. These included dozens of packages prepared for sale containing methadone, heroin, alpha-PVP, buprenorphine, and pregabalin.

Police also seized materials necessary for packaging narcotic substances.
