Officers of the Old Tbilisi Main Division of the Tbilisi Police Department of Georgia’s Ministry of Internal Affairs detained S.Z., born in 2007, on charges of domestic violence, rape, inhuman treatment, threats, and damage to property. The Ministry of Internal Affairs reported this.

According to the agency, the investigation established that the accused systematically used physical and sexual violence and also threatened to kill K.Sh., born in 2005.

“As a result of the accused’s actions, K.Sh. attempted suicide. Following operational measures and investigative actions, law enforcement officers detained S.Z. as a suspect. The investigation is being conducted under Articles 11 prima 137, 11 prima 151, 11 prima 187, 144 tertia, and 126 prima of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which provide for a penalty of up to 13 years’ imprisonment,” the statement says.
