Georgia’s Ministry of Internal Affairs Detains British Citizen on Drug Charges

Officers from the Mtskheta District Division of the Mtskheta-Mtianeti Police Department, under Georgia’s Ministry of Internal Affairs, have detained British citizen D.H., born in 1988, for the illegal purchase, possession, and cultivation of a large quantity of narcotic substances. This was reported by the Ministry.
During a search of the suspect’s personal belongings and residence, law enforcement officers seized a large quantity of narcotics prepared for sale, as well as an electronic scale, as evidence.
Additionally, 13 cannabis plants were seized from a greenhouse equipped for cultivating drug-containing plants.
“The investigation is being conducted under Articles 260, 265, and 273¹ of the Criminal Code of Georgia,” the ministry’s statement reads.
For reference: these crimes are punishable by imprisonment ranging from 4 to 11 years.
