Georgian Police Seize Drugs in Particularly Large Quantities — One Person Detained

Officers of the Main Division for Combating Illegal Drug Trafficking of the Central Criminal Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia detained L.M., born in 1994, as a result of operational and investigative measures. He is accused of the illegal acquisition and possession of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances in large and particularly large quantities, the Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs reports.

According to the agency, during a search of the detainee's apartment, law enforcement officers seized various types of narcotic substances in particularly large quantities as physical evidence, including: mephedrone, MDMA, methamphetamine, mushrooms containing psilocin, dried marijuana, and pregabalin. Investigators also seized materials intended for drug packaging, adhesive tapes, and an electronic scale.

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the investigation is being conducted under Parts 1, 2, and 3 of Article 260, as well as Article 261 of the Criminal Code.

This offense is punishable by up to 20 years of imprisonment or life imprisonment.
