Employees of the Migration Department detained 46 foreign nationals as a result of special immigration control operations
Employees of the Migration Department of the Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs carried out special immigration control operations across the country.
According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, as a result of the comprehensive operations, 46 foreigners who were staying in the country illegally were detained, including citizens of Yemen, Pakistan, India, Turkmenistan, China, Cuba, Sudan, Nigeria, Russia, Belarus, and Egypt.

According to the agency, within the framework of the special immigration control operations, department employees inspected specific locations and facilities of various purposes, aimed at identifying foreign nationals staying in Georgia without legal grounds.
It was established that the detained individuals were staying in the country in violation of the requirements of the Georgian law “On the Legal Status of Foreigners and Stateless Persons.”
At present, the detainees have been placed in the temporary accommodation center of the Migration Department.
Relevant procedures are underway for their deportation from the country.
