Tamar Ioseliani: The Anaklia Deep-Sea Port Will Receive Its First Ship in 2029

According to Georgia’s Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Tamar Ioseliani, the Anaklia deep-sea port will receive its first vessel by 2029. She made this statement during the panel discussion “Infrastructure Projects for Enhancing Georgia’s Connectivity”, held as part of the Silk Road Forum.

“Anaklia is not just a port — it is a platform for providing services in specific areas. Necessary infrastructure will be developed near the Anaklia seaport, and special attention will be given to implementing innovations based on operational needs,” said the Deputy Minister of Economy.

As Tamar Ioseliani noted, the project involves highly resilient infrastructure. “We already know exactly what benefits this port will bring to the country. In the initial phase, around 300 jobs have already been created, and we expect that at this early stage the number will reach one thousand,” she emphasized.

According to the Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, the Government of Georgia is actively investing in the project.

“The Anaklia Port is not the only project through which Georgia is striving to look toward the future,” added Tamar Ioseliani.
