Mariam Kvrivishvili: The economic well-being of our citizens, new jobs and opportunities for sustainable employment are our priority
The Ambassadori Island Batumi project represents a new milestone in the history of construction and architecture in Georgia, as upon completion the project will include two artificial peninsulas and one artificial island located on an area of 84 hectares, half of which will be a recreational zone. This was stated by the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Mariam Kvrivishvili during a ceremonial event marking the placement of a symbolic capsule in the foundation of the first skyscraper on the artificial island in Batumi.
The investment in the construction of the first skyscraper will amount to 200 million US dollars.
“Today we have the honor of laying the foundation for the first skyscraper on the artificial island in Batumi, which will become one of the symbols of the new Batumi. Traditionally, we can speak at length about the benefits that the implementation of a $200 million investment will bring to our country and to the Adjara region. Hundreds of new jobs will be created, and there will also be unique architecture and a new center of attraction. However, our society is already well aware of all this, as the company itself frequently speaks about the value of this project and its benefits,” Mariam Kvrivishvili noted.
“The attractiveness of a country encourages the emergence of such projects, while the development of such projects, in turn, increases the country’s attractiveness. This is precisely the formula of cooperation, which is an integral part of the policy of peace, when everyone benefits and the agreement is advantageous for all. This is exactly the vision of our government. The economic well-being of our citizens, new jobs and opportunities for sustainable employment are our priority — something we always keep in mind and which is the main defining principle of our government: caring for our people, caring for our citizens, and caring for our future,” Kvrivishvili said.
As part of the Ambassadori Island Batumi project, the area — 49% of which will be allocated to a recreational zone — will also see the construction of the first international-standard yacht club, educational institutions, shopping centers, hotels, and residential apartments.
