Irakli Kobakhidze: There are agencies in Georgia that investigate cartel collusion and take appropriate measures when necessary
We do not want to draw hasty conclusions — there are relevant agencies that study cartel collusion and take appropriate measures when required. We should wait for this kind of investigation, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze told journalists.
As the head of government noted, the main task is to find ways to reduce prices as much as possible.
“A commission will definitely be established in parliament — this is a decision of parliament. As for specific possible cartel agreements, I will not comment on this in detail today. Today we have a meeting scheduled with Georgian producers who manufacture food products in our country — we will also hear information from them.
We do not want to draw hasty conclusions — there are relevant agencies that investigate cartel collusion and take appropriate measures when necessary. We must wait for this type of investigation. Until then, I will refrain from giving specific explanations.
For us, the most important thing is to listen to everyone, and together we must make every effort to find ways to reduce prices. This is our main task,” Irakli Kobakhidze said.
