“Within the framework of the visit to Tajikistan, important bilateral meetings were held, during which very significant agreements were signed that will strengthen economic ties between our countries,” said Georgian Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Mariam Kvrivishvili, assessing the visit of the Georgian government delegation to the Republic of Tajikistan led by Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze.
According to Mariam Kvrivishvili, an air transport agreement was signed during the visit, which represents a step forward toward accelerating the launch of direct flights between the capitals of the two countries.
“During the meetings, great attention was paid to strengthening ties between Georgia and Tajikistan in the tourism sector, which will, of course, also contribute to the further development of economic relations,” the minister noted.
She also emphasized that Georgia’s crucial role as a link between Asia and Europe was particularly highlighted.
Special attention was paid to the importance of projects being implemented by the Georgian government to develop the transport and logistics sectors.
