According to data from the first 11 months of the current year, Georgia’s airports recorded an all-time high both in passenger traffic and in the number of flights. In January–November, Georgia’s airports served up to 8 million (7,863,534) passengers, which is 14% more than in the same period of 2024 (6,908,493). This was reported by the Ministry of Economy of Georgia.
According to the same information, during the reporting period the number of regular flights reached 26,855, while the number of charter flights amounted to 8,250. In total, the number of flights performed over the 11 months (35,105) exceeded the number of flights in the same period of 2024 (29,871) by 18%, which is also a record.
Tbilisi International Airport served 4,981,865 passengers, which is 13% more compared to the same period in 2024. Kutaisi International Airport received 1,692,513 passengers, a 7% increase from last year. The highest growth was recorded at Batumi International Airport — it served 1,165,767 passengers over 11 months, which is 30% more than last year.
High growth rates in cargo transportation were also maintained in the fourth quarter. In total, over the past 11 months the volume of cargo transported by air amounted to 33,924.485 tons. Consequently, compared to the same period in 2024, cargo turnover increased by 49%.
