As a result of a shooting in the United States, eight children have been killed
In the city of Shreveport in the U.S. state of Louisiana, eight children became victims of a shooting carried out by an unidentified man on Sunday morning, April 19. Two other people were injured, according to NBC News.
According to preliminary police data, the incident is believed to be a case of domestic violence. The crime scene spans two houses located in the same area, as well as another nearby house where one of the victims attempted to hide after the shooting began, according to a police spokesperson.
It is reported that the suspected attacker attempted to flee after stealing a car. However, Shreveport police patrol officers initiated a pursuit, and the suspect was shot and killed.
At the time of publication, no further details about the attacker’s identity or possible motives had been released. Meanwhile, police indicated that some of the children killed were related to the man.
In connection with the tragedy, Shreveport Mayor Tom Arceneaux declared a period of mourning.
